funeral preparations

He rolled over with messy hair
lagging behind, and broke
the complacent ambience with
"You know humans are perhaps
the only species carrying
the pain of their pending
mortality..." As he chased
the logic of his own
arguments, I smoothed out
locks, ran fingers across
the ridges of articulate lips
and silently beckoned death to

aesthetic  death

Oh wow...powerful and provocative.  I am one such person who is "carrying the pain of his pending mortality."  I've been like that since I was a little boy who couldn't understand where my grandfather went.  This is excellent.  Thanks.  :-)   &nb sp;
