online poetry workshop

like clockwork at midnight
unknown

buzzed
 1
in the guest room
 2
of my ghetto
 3
house.
 4

the porch-light
 5
flicked on
 6
at the sardine-box
 7
duplexes
 8
across the street.
 9

took her
 10
twenty-minutes
 11
to move ten-feet
 12
from the door
 13
to her car.
 14

sometimes she leaned
 15
on the four-pronged cane
 16
five-minutes
 17
at a time.
 18

i'd never seen
 19
someone that big
 20
walk.
 21

if i mashed my face
 22
to the window
 23
and squinted
 24
i could see
 25
heaving and sweating
 26
under the
 27
street-light.
 28

if i had a poem written
 29
by the time
 30
she turned the car over
 31
i was golden.
 32

if not,
 33
i switched to
 34
internet porn.
 35

two-weeks ago
 36
an ambulance came
 37
at three
 38
in the morning.
 39

week later
 40
tow truck
 41
took her
 42
car.
 43

now some gutter-pirate
 44
with a soul-patch
 45
and late model camaro
 46
guns in and out
 47
of our spot
 48
thirty times
 49
a day.
