Your chaste, friendly kiss

When I touch you I must not linger too long
In case you notice
When I look at you I must not have the eyes of a lover
In case you see
When you tell me about your new love, I must not show my pain
In case you feel it
I cannot let you know that I live for that brief hug when we part,
that your chaste, friendly kiss breaks my heart
and that I weep when I leave you
How can I tell you?
How can I ever tell you when it was I who broke your heart?
