Gary Snyder

Even as I write this email to Gary Snyder
my instinct is to crush them; two ants, one is dead,
carried across the hard-wood floor by the other who cleans up the
"wrecking of the world."
One, two, one after another black bodies pile,
and If I kill these ants who will carry them home?
If I kill and keep killing they will keep coming and I
will kill them too and eventually there will be nothing.
who will carry my body when I am crushed
by the weight of this unnatural thing?
