So damn vulnerable

I always say never
That I'm through with all these games
Yet here I am again
Holding on by a string
Numbness is only temporary
and eventually subsides
To show the charred remains
Of feelings that once died.
So sure of what I've been through,
and what there is to come
Positive that in the hell hole
I'll never find someone.
Oh God, I've let you in.
I thought I wouldn't be able
What have I  gotten myself into?
Again, I am vulnerable.
