Journey amongst the apathetic

Hear the swift rhythm of rain,
Upon roofs,
Upon jet-black pavement.
A crisp autumn night has crept upon us,
The wind cries out,
Lonely hearts beat.
Reflections in glass,
A pale face leers,
The rain continues on.
Eyes stay focused on the sidewalk in front of them,
Leaves scattered amongst the grass,
We wander, wet and unfeeling.
