sorry, i wanted to say

as i wrenched my clear umbrella

through your ribcage

and plucked at your vocal chords.

of course,

i was preoccupied

but i think you could see

how fierce my irises burned
 8
as i lust-lunged
 9
in your direction.

and if only

i left you this note

rather than the word

"die" in sumerian warrior grammar.

nevertheless, i believe

you were adequately disciplined

in the artistic merit

of wall sockets,

and can appreciate how

chestnut blossoms ferment

in their fragile deaths.
