Christianity is but the vanity of man.  Mor  21 Jan 07 4:53PM Post Reply

If I could fly infinity
upon such endless quest
How many million years away
before I saw times rest

For in that restless universe
Man’s subject of discourse
His truth is but a grain asperse
its minded needs, introrse.

All life he sees is shadows
flits faint before his eyes
mere making needs neutrettos
in much substance; and its lies.

For in ten billion light years
where ne’er a single God be seen
Times universe is spacial glorious
in worlds; where ne’er a man has been.

This is very good Mor, better than most of the poems over there >
L9, symbols instead of shadows? and maybe get rid of one of the references to millions of years  or billions of light years.
We all need to hang onto something, even atheism could be regarded as a belief system.

not vanity the desparate yearning

The yearning comes about because sentiment creatures tend to interpret the universe symbolically
Vain because of our egocentric attempt to place ourselves in some unique position in the universe

The need for Christ is BECAUSE of the vanity of man, a tool created by a creator who is as mad as hell, pun intended, because his tools decided to get up and move about the shop. Because a hammer decided to become an anvil and a screwdriver decided to become a scale.

If Christianity is truth
that logic does despise
What puny mind, does man embrace
in conveyance of its lies.

For we are but mere molecules
insignificance for to rate
own semblance of its motley fools
agist reasons needs relate

An amma of its arrogance.
agenesis’s note of seeming worth
What bossage does its laying chance
upon times polished gems of earth.

" Christianity is but the vanity of man." Right, ok. the vanity of man would not be deemed as christianity. The vanity of man is the belief that we are no longer animal and fooling ourselves, successfully, that we have evolved to a level of being beyond comprehension.

Christianity and religion as a whole is nothing more than a sociological tool; to help bind a large group of people together under one yolk and get them pressing forward in one direction: Politics.

the vanity of man, is the inability to see that many of our actions are still based upon the actions of an animal brain, not sentient. Once people stop checking themselves for fleas and realize that evolution is not an inherent switch but a concious choice then more the better for us all.

1 John 4:2-4  Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
