The Electric City beckons
1 |
With its endless promise
2 |
Stretched out over miles
3 |
Of broken dreams
4 |
And boarded windows
5 |
Such handsomely filled shoes used to walk these streets
6 |
Where the ends once met
7 |
So cleanly
8 |
Until one day they all became
9 |
One way streets out of town
10 |
But there's still something there
11 |
Concealed beneath the bickering
12 |
And the worse than that
13 |
And the overwhelming pride
14 |
From those who knew and made
15 |
What it once was
16 |
Still, inexplicably, the electric beckons
17 |
Us knowing
18 |
"It came from Schenectady"
19 |
The fantasy still lives on as Ilium
20 |
Providing the basis for insanity
21 |
That would follow some to Munich
22 |
Or Connecticut
23 |
Or the foundation of
24 |
listening
25 |
uncovering
26 |
following
27 |
Me
28 |
Home
